is it safe to consume insects?
Fully cooked insects cannot hurt you. MealMeal products are not only cooked, but the mealworms are ground into small pieces or a powder eliminating most further risks. Like all foods we consume, there is always the chance a product can go bad, so please check the expiration date and be careful when storing food.
are there any benefits?
Growing mealworms is much better for the environment than your standard livestock raising, using less water and land and producing exponentially less greenhouse gases. Additionally, one article on the topic states, "Mealworms contain high-quality protein, vitamins and amino acids. The health benefits of mealworms equate to that of meat or fish.
